Learn to needlefelt with Ullnåla's complete packages
We sell complete packages for those of you who want to learn needle felting, so we thought we would tell you a little more about these, what they contain and how we made them.
Complete package with Kalle Rabbit or Mons and Molly Mouse contains:
-Recipe for beginners
-6 types of single needles
-4 blue single needles
-1 blue Wool needle felt needle holder
-Felt backing (approx. A5 size approx. 20x15x5 cm)
-Torx T10 key for the felt needle holder
-Wool for two figures
Recipe for beginners
The pattern begins with some general information about needle felting and felting needles. The pattern itself has many large pictures and large font so that it is easy to follow while you work. The package includes a QR code that you can use to get the pattern digitally, here you will always find the latest version of the pattern. The pattern was created in collaboration with someone who is a beginner himself, so it is well adapted to those of you who have not felted before.
Note: The recipe is protected by Norwegian copyright law, it is only for personal use by you as the buyer/consumer and should not be passed on/given to others.

These are all our needles, they are color-coded so it is easy to find the right needle. The pattern contains information about the needles and what they are used for. You can also read more about needles in our blog here: Felting Needles . To make Mons, Molly or Kalle you can use all the needles here except the yellow reverse needle, but we send it with the package as we think it belongs in the needles you should have.
Blue felt needle holder and Torx T10
Here you get a blue felting needle holder that you can insert 1, 2 or 3 needles. We recommend that you try first with 3, then you get a super triple needle to start the larger parts with, such as the head, body, arms and legs. The triple needle is also great for flat felting on clothes. If you find the needle bulges too much, you can try inserting only 2 needles. If you are unlucky and break a needle, unscrew the felting needle holder with the included torx key and replace the broken needle. The torx key that is included is small, so if you have a larger/better Torx10 at home, feel free to use it. Previously we sent with a Red triple needle with 42G, but have now chosen Blue 40G as this is a thicker felting needle so it does not break as easily. It is a package for beginners and one breaks needles more easily at first. Always insert identical needles and we recommend using the same color on the needle and holder so you can easily find the correct needle. Read more about our felting needle holders in the blog here.
4 single Blue 40G Triangle
Here you have 4 needles to use in the blue felting needle holder, so here you have an extra needle in case a blue needle breaks.
Felt backing
Our felting mats are thick and good, a full 5 cm. The felting mat that is included in the complete package is size A5. You can read more about felting mats and tips in our blog « Needle felting for beginners. »
Wool enough for two figures
In the complete package for Kalle Kanin and Mons and Molly you get carded wool from Hillesvåg ullvarefabrikk, we would say this is the best carded wool, we only use wool from Hillesvåg and this is what we have in the online store if you need more wool. We have the same price for carded wool as Hillesvåg, and the minimum purchase per color is 50 grams. The package contains beige wool for the body/face, a little white, black and brown, in addition there is your chosen color for the hat and possibly clothes.
Complete package as a gift?
If you want to give the complete package as a gift, we will wrap it in a nice gift box with our design on the outside. When we send it, we wrap it in kraft paper so as not to damage the package with stamps after the post. There is a separate choice for a gift box in the online store for NOK 30,- when you order.
Is it difficult to achieve?
We don't think so, very simple principle, namely to stick to felt wool together and you don't have to sew, bake, glue, dry, wait. On the Facebook page "Ullnåla" and "Ullnåla Nålefilte Forum" you will find many pictures of the first figure that several people have posted, they are so nice - and we are very proud of the results they show.
Buy just the pattern? How much wool do you need for 2 figures about 15 cm tall?
You can choose to buy just the pattern, which will give you access to a PDF file that you can print out yourself. If you are missing any of the above, you can buy what you need in our online store, just follow the links above.
2 mice/rabbits that are about 15 cm tall, weigh about 100 grams together, i.e. wool for about 65,- NOK. If you need wool for two figures like Mons, Molly or Kalle, you must order the following:
Body 150 g beige (can also use white, light gray, medium gray etc.) Here you probably only need 100 g, but it's boring to get too little.
Snout 50 g brown (here you can also use red, black, pink, apricot etc.) (Here you only need a little bit, but the minimum purchase is 50 grams)
Eyes/snout/mouth: 50 g bleached white (or washed white)
Eyes/mouth: 50 g black
Hat: 50 give the desired color
Pants/dress: 50 in desired color
