First: Thank you so much if you already have one of our needle felted dolls — and welcome if you're considering purchasing one! Here are some helpful tips for care, storage, and ordering.
Do you want to buy a doll?
We are so incredibly grateful for all the nice orders and all the interest we receive 😊 It means a lot to us to be able to share the joy of needlework.
At the same time, we must be careful to preserve what is the very heart of Ullnåla – the joy, creativity and peace of making something with our hands. Therefore, we unfortunately have to say no to some orders when we feel that it is becoming too much. We apologize for that and it is not easy, but necessary to keep the joy of creation going 🌸 the figures take time to make. There are many stitches and time-consuming work.
In our online store www.ullnaala.no you can see many finished figures. If you are lucky you will also find some figures for sale there, but they often disappear quickly. On our Facebook page Ullnåla we post figures, so you will also find a lot there. We also make mittens and seat pads with needle felted motifs.
We accept orders if we have time and it is something we think we can do, so please contact us via Facebook Messenger to tell us what you want. Preferably with a picture or describe the figure for us. We try to make figures that are similar, but no two handmade figures will ever be exactly the same. Challenges are also fun, so please contact us if you have an idea for a figure you want, that you don't find that we have made before.
We also sell gift certificates — perfect if you know someone who likes what we make.
Tips if you have a feltet doll
- Not a toy: Needle felted figures are decoration – not a toy . They are handmade and can easily be torn apart by rough handling. Also, do not let small children use the figures as a toy because small parts can come loose.
- Keep away from pets: Remember to place them out of reach of cats, dogs or other animals that could bite or pull them.
- Dusting: Dry dust by blowing gently. If there are things on the figure that are not wool, you can use a nice soft brush on those things (sled, buttons, fiddle, accordion, Christmas balls, etc.) and blow while brushing gently.
- Stability: The figures are lightweight. If a figure becomes unstable, grasp it firmly around the base and press it down on a flat surface to stabilize it.
- Hair care: If your hair has become frizzy, you can gently comb it with a pin — small and careful, in spots.
- Color and blush: Have your cheeks become paler? A light layer of blush powder applied gently can give them a new lease of life. Try a little at a time.
